PaRanga means “Ignorance to Wisdom” “agnaanadimda sugnaanadedege” (In kannada language).
PaRanga Charitable Trust got registered by the Sub Registrar, Magadi on 28th September 1998 at 1.30 PM, as a forum. Mr. M.R.Rama Murthy was the founder.
Since there were no High Schools around 5 Kms from Thorepalya, steps were taken to start PaRanga High School in the year 2000-01 and the first batch of students took the state SSLC examination during March 2003. The teaching methods and the infrastructure suiting to this environment was implemented as an ongoing process . With our experience it was found that the basic education was a problem for the students as such PaRanga Pre Primary and PaRanga Primary Schools were started. This was started in an existing place (Ref. Photo gallery). We decided to give the required infrastructure, facilities and environment for the all round development of rural children.
In this context we like to thank Mrs. Ashraya Hastha Trust, Rep. by Dr.K. Dinesh. Managing Trustee, Mrs. Asha Dinesh, Trustee for encouraging us to go ahead by donating Rs. 5 lakhs, when there was nothing to show, this encouragement inspired us to go further.
When it was thought of going for Pyramid class rooms, the first of its sort for the country, it was Mr. Gururaja Rao who was responsible for the first pyramid class room. We would like to thank Mr. Gururaja Rao, Patel Family, Mr. M.Ashok
Paranga Sushrutha Kendra was inaugurated on 5th May 2002 by Mr. Narayanaswamy I.A.S. District Commissioner, more than 400 patients were diagnosed and the free medical treatment was provided. Dr. M.R.Shankara continued this activity by offering free medical treatment once in a week. Consequent to his demise the project is temporarily stopped. We are looking for a service minded medical practitioner.
Under PaRanga Sasya Kashi Activity a Project DETMHAP – DEvelopment and Training Methods for Higher Agricultural Methods sponsored by Ashraya Hasta Trust was taken up, under the guidance from Prof. K.R.Datye and Mr. Balakrishna Renke from Maharashtra. The project progressed well but due to unforeseen working problems the project could not be continued.
PaRanga Raktha Nidhi activity was inaugurated on by Late Sri. M.N.Ranganatha Rao , the Chief Patron of our Trust, at Bangalore Credit Co-Operative Society, through arranging a voluntary Blood donation camp, in which Mr. M.R.Rama Murthy, the Managing Trustee by donating his blood inaugurated the Blood donation camp.
A Blood donation camp was arranged at Thorepalya the first of its sort arranged around Thorepalya thus made the rural community knowledgeable about the value of Blood donation.
Voluntary Blood Donation, Medical checkup and eye testing camps were arranged on 22-2-2003 at Govt. Higher Primary School, Belagumba in association with Gnana Bharati Lions Club, Lions Eye Hospital, and Lions Blood Bank. .
Since, January 2019, Chaya M.R. was nominated as managing trustee of Paranga Charitable Trust. Chaya M.R is an
active social worker who was an active trustee of Paranga Charitable Trust since 1998. She has wide exposure of 40+
years in the education field working as Teacher, Principal, Administrator.
She quit her high earning job as a school principal in year 2016 and moved to village with her husband Venkataramu leaving behind their luxurious life and since then they are dedicating their life towards upliftment of needy rural community.
